Shenzhen enhances inclusiveness with accessibility upgrades

The 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (collectively referred to as the Games) mark the first time that Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao have jointly hosted a national-level sports event. Shenzhen has deployed a wide range of high-tech assistive devices, completing all accessibility upgrade tasks for the Games.

At the first competition in Shenzhen under the Games, the cycling event, 108 assistive technology products from 38 companies were showcased. Among them was the Guide Rabbit AI glasses, independently developed by a Shenzhen company. This AI-powered device is designed specifically for the visually impaired, acting as a loyal "little guide" by converting real-time camera visuals into audio signals, enabling visually impaired spectators to "see" the competition.

In addition, a 4D millimeter-wave radar served as a "guardian," capable of detecting falls by athletes with disabilities within seconds and triggering audio-visual alarms. The device for government services, developed by Voibook Technology, is a real-time sign-language translation system powered by AI. It enables one-click access to professional sign-language interpreters via video calls, providing convenient communication support for hearing-impaired athletes. Intelligent bionic hands and legs, exoskeleton robots, brain-computer interface (BCI)-controlled wheelchairs, and many other advanced assistive devices are directly addressing the concerns and needs of persons with disabilities.

A "user-centered mindset" has been applied throughout the entire service process for the Games. Before the arrival of athletes with disabilities in Shenzhen, their personalized accessibility needs were collected and passed on to hotels to customize accommodations. Wheelchair athletes were given priority for lower-floor rooms close to elevators, while visually impaired athletes were assigned adjacent rooms to form "mutual-aid units." From tactile elevator signs and audio-visual guidance systems to accessible buffet counters, thoughtful details could be seen everywhere.

导盲 AI 眼镜、外骨骼机器人……深圳以无障碍改造传递城市温暖

全国第十五届运动会和第十二届残疾人运动会暨第九届特殊奥林匹克运动会（以下简称“十五运会和残特奥会”）是首次由粤港澳三地一体承办的国家级体育盛会。深圳投入了大批高科技辅具设备，全面完成十五运会和残特奥会无障碍提升任务。

在十五运会和残特奥会深圳赛区“首赛”——残特奥会自行车赛上，来自38家企业的108种“科技助残”产品展露峥嵘。“导盲兔”AI眼镜是深圳企业自主研发的，一款专为盲人设计的AI智能设备，它是视障观众最忠实的“小向导”，能够实时将摄像头“看”到的场景，转化为语音信号，帮助视障观众“看清”赛事的精彩。

此外，4D毫米波雷达化身“守卫者”，能以秒级速度识别残疾人运动员跌倒动作并启动声光报警；音书政务无障碍系统依托AI技术，能够一键连接专业手语老师，以视频通话的形式为听障运动员提供便捷的沟通服务；智能仿生手（腿）、外骨骼机器人、脑机接口轮椅……一大批高科技辅具设备正回应着残疾群体的关切与需求。

“用户思维”被广泛运用于此次赛事接待服务“全过程”。深圳在残疾人运动员抵深前即征集运动员“个性化”无障碍需求，交由酒店“量身定制”住宿环境。轮椅运动员被优先分配至低楼层近电梯客房、视障运动员规划相邻客房“互助单元”，电梯触觉标识、声光引导系统、低位取餐区等细节处处体现关怀。
